A day spent photographing bears in the wilderness area of Katmai National Park 30kms North of McNeil River Alaska. A 1hr 20min float plane flight from Homer Spit with Emerald Air and Dave Bachrach from Gosee Bears.
Grizzly bears or brown bears are one in the same the main reason for differences in name and appearance is their diet and the area they live in. Brown bears on the coast of Alaska are larger because of their abundant food supply made up of salmon, clams and sedge grasses. The inland Grizzly feeds mainly on berries etc and are usually on 300-400lb lighter.
